O programa de dois anos levando a atribuição do Mestrado em Tecnologia em Infrastructure Engineering Design é projetado para melhorar as habilidades e conhecimento do projeto estrutural para os estudantes e profissionais que trabalham no sector da construção e engenharia civil. Currículo programa MIED visa combinar a engenharia de infra-estrutura e projeto permitindo aos estudantes para adicionar aspectos complementares, tais como planejamento de infra-estrutura, financiamento e gestão. Um estudante potencialmente pode desenvolver o foco através verticais e horizontais. Verticalmente, o setor é de interesse primário ea escolha de área de foco segue. Alternativamente, um estudante pode desenvolver habilidades na horizontal, em que a área de foco é de interesse primário cobrindo mais de um setor. O currículo do curso foi concebido para incentivar a aprendizagem dos alunos por um mix de cursos de aula e aplicação de mão-on, através de cursos de estúdio. Os cursos de palestra focar na construção de conhecimento teórico com a possibilidade de explorar a sua aplicação empírica em cursos de estúdio. Maior parte dos créditos cursos obrigatórios são estúdios cursos onde os alunos trabalham em vida real como contextos, enfatizando a importância da prática. CEPT pedagogia inclui uma grande variedade de cursos com ênfase significativa em aplicações práticas através de hands-on projetos cursos de estúdio (dignou-se a criar na vida real como situações) e dissertação independente. Principais profissionais de infra-estrutura são convidados a entregar palestras e participar de discussões interativas com os alunos. Admissões e pré-requisitos Na primeira fase de escrutínio, todas as candidaturas recebidas serão analisadas para a elegibilidade com base em informações fornecidas nos formulários de candidatura on-line. Todos os candidatos que preenchem os critérios de elegibilidade serão considerados para a fase 2 (vestibular). Posteriormente, uma lista de 300-350 candidatos são apuradas para a fase que inclui entrevistas (em pessoa ou via teleconferência). lista de mérito final é elaborado com base no desempenho acadêmico no programa de UG, pontuação no exame de admissão, pontuação na entrevista, e os meses totais de experiência profissional. Os candidatos para o M.Tech. programa na categoria geral deve ter um mínimo de 55% marcas agregadas e aqueles nas categorias reservados devem ter um mínimo de 50% de marcas agregadas em bacharelado (ou equivalente) em Engenharia Civil / Construção Tecnologia / Arquitetura / Engenharia Ambiental a partir de um reconhecido Universidade / Instituição. This course invites students to engage with cities in a multidisciplinary way to propose local solutions to global issues like climate change and migration, and to protect heritage values. M.Plan. in Urban Design, Sustainability and Conservation From small neighborhoods to large metropolitan centers, urban areas in India today are in a state of rapid growth and transformation. Rapid urbanization and relentless globalization threaten to erode, diminish, and erase the cultural heritage (tangible and intangible) along with irreparable destruction to the natural environment of places. We believe that a deeper understanding and engagement with the cultural heritage and natural environment and ecology of particular locales will lead to creative and innovative strategies to protect heritage values while reaching for inclusive and sustainable goals in the design of urban landscapes. The transdiciplinarity of the course encourages collaboration, innovation and sustainable approaches to express and create experiences. The program is aimed at creative art practitioners interested in a variety of media and modalities. Specifically, the program invites students and practitioners interested in exploring the cognitive, visual, experimental, scientific, interactive, and narrative aspects of the sciences and technology. Students from a variety of backgrounds, such as the arts, computer engineering, humanities, the sciences, and social sciences are encouraged to pursue this interdisciplinary masters program. The two-year M.Cr.A. incorporates research and studio exploration of a topic of the students’ choice, with the goal of producing a refined body of work that culminates in a M.Cr. A. exhibition. The creative force of the artist to not only produce artifacts, but also to perform and activate, has broadened the opportunity for artists to enter diverse fields. Artists react to observations of the world we live in, translating experience into art production and interventions. Merging genres and media –for example drawing with sound recording, or land art with video – creates new contexts for the expanding field of art practice. M.Des. in Information Arts and Information Design Practice We preserve and transmit culture, language and all historical record, whether myth or real, using the power of narrative. Narrative or stories that are not just the oral and the written, but in art, in dance, music and drama, embracing philosophy, history, politics, the environment and the social sciences. The Information Arts and Information Design Course at Srishti will explore the idea that all data is narrative. Information is narrative, but with purposefulness. Stories craft our identity, they heal, inform, challenge and are the stuff of which our lives are made of. Traditional boundaries of the narrative are constantly broken in the interfaces of the global and the local, the traditional and the contemporary. Access to information is making the physical boundaries of the world we live in permeable. With multiple screens, constant connectivity, social and mass media has taken on a completely new form. The narrative has become all-pervasive, whether it be complex data that is to be effectively disseminated to diverse audiences, using diverse media, or it be used as a tool for research with communities in flux. Within Spaces’ is a poetic journey through the picturesque landscape of the Andamans. Chaitali Pai has used watercolors to portray the fluidity of water and the wax paintings reveal the motions of sand and water during tides. From a knowledge-based society, the challenge is to move to a wisdom-based society. To this end, we seek to find ways to seamlessly draw from the essence and spirit of the jester, the bard and the wandering minstrels in our modern guises. In that, the Information Arts and Information Design program is about crafting oneself as a storyteller, a behroopiya, whose stories are crafted through the fine lenses of time and space, cultures and contexts, information, knowledge and the extraction of wisdom. How do we identify and assess the cultural (tangible and intangible) and environmental heritage of a place? How do we manage and protect these valuable resources? How can we improve such places and benefit their communities in ways that are compatible with the heritage values? How can places, their cultural and natural assets inform and inspire design and creative practices? How can we support local communities to manage their inheritance? Open to students in all design disciplines, the course aims to infuse a deep understanding of built and intangible cultural heritage and the natural environment in design. The Master of Design in Heritage Design, Planning, and Management prepares students with the skills, knowledge, and tools to identify, document, evaluate, protect, manage, interpret cultural and natural heritage. They will plan creative solutions with minimal and sustainable interventions to improve basic infrastructure, presentation of places and their uniqueness to the benefit of local communities. Students also learn to derive knowledge and principles of design from cultural and natural heritage places to explore new ways that contemporary creative practices including architecture and urban design can be informed and enriched by history, culture, ecology, tradition, community, and craft. The program is a vibrant multidisciplinary platform for theoretical and practical engagement in context-specific fieldwork to engage a range of academic studies from architecture and urban design to the humanities, cultural geography, management, entrepreneurship, and tourism. The course is a program of the UNESCO Chair in Culture, Habitat, and Sustainable Development at Srishti. As such, students will gain familiarity with international (and national) norms and standards in heritage management including the World Heritage Convention. They will also explore new approaches to managing and designing with heritage to benefit local communities, plan better places, and nurture cultural entrepreneurship compatible with heritage values of particular places. Contemporary design and planning rooted in and compatible with key cultural and natural heritage and place identity promote sustainable development. Course structure Studios encourage active, contextual learning where students develop core disciplinary skills and knowledge. Studios facilitate collaborative and creative design solutions to complex, open-ended problems Workshops provide intense learning experiences in making and doing, across the different disciplines. Internship with an industry or a design studio is compulsory for students at the end of 1st year for M.Des. Self Initiated Project is an end of the semester challenge that allows the student to engage in research / enquiry or design based projects. Students begin by writing their project proposal and defining the scope of their project and they are mentored by faculty / design professionals. Electives are liberal arts courses aimed to cultivate intellectual and reflective abilities in students and motivate them to probe deeper and approach their design process in a holistic manner. Capstone Project is the culmination of the research, capabilities and knowledge gained over the last three semesters. Students are required to submit their design output and a mandated thesis document. Students are mentored during this final project and go through seminars to get feedback from faculty and peer groups Capabilities On successful completion of the course, graduates will have a specialization in heritage related design and planning in a range of design disciplines from architecture, urban design, and planning to visual communication, textiles, products and systems, and film (based on the student’s base discipline).
